100 Mile Walking Challenge Week 1

If you read my blog last week, as promised here’s an update on week 1 of my 100 mile walking challenge. If you’re not aware, all the information can be found on AACKA.com and the AACKA Facebook Page.

Brief summary

February 2026 is Heart Month and AACKA is shining a light on The British Heart Foundation (BHF).

“At BHF, their vision is a world where everyone has a healthier heart for longer. Where fewer hearts stop without warning and more of us can live well with the people we love.”

I’ve decided to fundraise for The British Heart Foundation and AACKA by taking on the BHF walking challenge and completing 100 miles during the month of February 2026. I hope you’re able to support me in my quest by making a donation (no matter how small) to help support the work of these two organisations. Any donations received will be equally shared 50/50. Visit our website or Facebook page for details on how to make a donation.

How’s The Challenge Going?

As you might imagine, it’s difficult to gauge my progress based on one week, however I’m feeling positive about completing the 100 Mile Challenge in 28 days. I’ve been adding those extra steps to my tally by doing little things like taking a long route to the shops, getting off the bus a stop earlier than usual and walking to visit friends instead of getting on the bus.

My challenge for week 2 is to beat the step count achieved on Saturday 7th February
