Testimony: My Journey with Kidney Health

Part 1

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my personal journey, hoping it might encourage someone to listen to their body and seek help when something doesn’t feel right.

My test began at the end of January, right after finishing a Daniel fast with some church members. I remember feeling really tired at work on a Friday, but I thought it was just because I hadn’t rested enough. When I went to the toilet, I noticed my urine was foamy. I looked it up and found it could be a sign of protein leakage. My friend, who’s a nurse, confirmed that I should see a doctor, so I decided I’d go on Monday.

That weekend, I kept feeling more and more tired. My face didn’t feel right, and my eyes looked puffy. But I kept pushing on, even delivering some soup I’d promised to someone in hospital. On Sunday at church, my face was still swollen. By Monday, my legs felt heavy and my face was puffy. I told my team leader I wasn’t feeling well and managed to get a doctor’s appointment.

When I saw the doctor on 3rd February, he suspected nephrotic syndrome and called the hospital straight away—it was an emergency. I went straight to the hospital for assessment and had lots of tests. They couldn’t give me medication right away because of my kidney levels, so I had to wait for an appointment with the nephrology team. They told me to come back if my symptoms got worse.
